No Questions astonish on new single Talk To Me

Two mates making rock from the future.

No Questions are a two piece self-described future-rock band based in Naarm/Melbourne.

Striving to push the envelope of heavy music, members Adyn Young and Ben Lebbos are answering our prayers with their bold new take - emphasising experimental tones, deep sound design, samples and progressive songwriting.

Sounding like a cross between Jamie XX and The Prodigy, with a good dose of dystopian angst, No Questions embody the frustrations and fears of the day. Encapsulating the wild sound design of early 2010s EDM, whilst using the harmonic language of rock bands like Muse and Queens of the Stone Age, the sound has an almost unheard of sonic signature.

I think we’d love to be optimistic about our future when it comes to issues like the integration of AI in creative industries, climate policy, social justice issues and the like but there’s so much negative reinforcement happening day to day that all we can do is try to melt a hole through the floor of the bandroom with our amps and sing about how fucked everything is
— Adyn Young

The track is a four and a half minute odyssey of esoteric fretless guitar breakdowns, punchy lyrical digs and passionate choruses. Strange fuzzy, faded, detuning instrumentation contrasted with distorted riffs and heavy drums make for a strange but satisfying blend of literal cyber-punk.

Escapism through a futuristic lens, the music is paired with a fantastic visual of neon darkness, bringing to mind Blade Runner, Ghost In The Shell and other classic dystopian future settings.

Despite the name of No Questions, the band asks us to consider the implications of AI, and the horror of replacement in a steadily changing world. Will our future selves be able to distinguish between human and machine? Will there be a place for creativity and originality?

Make sure to listen to the track when it drops on Thursday 25/7, and catch them launching the single live at The Tote the same night.

Grab your tickets here, and get ready to listen when it drops Thursday.
