Red Moon Cowboy sink their teeth into it on Internet Users
Naarm/Melbourne alternative rock band Red Moon Cowboy have blessed listeners with their debut EP Internet Users - and boy is it something.
Hailing originally from Albany, WA, Red Moon Cowboy formed around childhood friendships. Consisting of members Owen Gust, Bailey O'Neill, Bryson Parker and Ollie Cafferk and reminiscent of indie acts like Tycho, the band the band fuse psychedelic and alternative inspirations to make music that sounds like a nostalgic blend of Aussie surf and indie tones.
Busy drums, wet guitars, lots of wah-wah and emphatic vocals - a tried and true recipe for catchy rock and roll.

Opening track Goblins is an angsty anthem for a lost soul. Delay-soaked clean guitars are the body of the tune, while steady bass and drums fill out the groove. Strong vocals tell a tale of paranoia, while contrasting dynamics maintain interest throughout.
Single Instant Noodles is a funkier cut - an Amen-esq break hammers home a speedy pace over which shimmering guitars and thumping bass lead the way home. The bass groove during the bridge is particularly powerful - a seriously strong attack balances the energy.
Another single Tiny Heart is the poppiest track on the record. A slower tune, more of a ballad - an absolute highlight of the EP. Mournful vocals shed light on a sensitive temperament, with almost emo delivery.
Title track Internet Users focusses in on the topic of technology addiction. Reflecting on the post-internet world, Red Moon Cowboy waxes lyrical on twenty-first century life over beautifully spacious production, with a stand out vocal.
